My Story
I grew up in a small mountain town in Oregon, living immersed in nature. This played a big role in shaping my life and passion for movement and the outdoors. From playing in the creek to playing team sports, cliff jumping, mountain biking, and kayaking, I was able to pursue a wide range of activities in the water and on land. I became more focused on snowboarding when I discovered the sport around age 12; this quickly turned into a longstanding passion until I fractured a spinal vertebrae during a snowboarding accident. Although it didn’t deter me from outdoor sports altogether, it definitely shifted my trajectory away from the pursuit of being a full-time athlete.
After graduating high school, I started spending more time in Hawai’i, and my love of snowboarding quickly translated into a passion for surfing. I hopped back and forth between the beaches of Oahu and the mountains in Oregon, surfing, snowboarding, kayaking, and mountain biking. Between the ocean, mountains, and river activities, I faced somewhat regular setbacks related to injuries. These challenges are what shaped the trajectory of my holistic approach to health because when more traditional methods of healing failed me, I decided to take my health into my own hands.
I first trained as a sports massage therapist, focusing on neuromuscular therapy. The more I worked with the body, the more I dove deeper into why we experience pain, injury, and limited performance. This led me to seek out the most comprehensive, holistic, and integrative education system out there - The CHEK Institute.
My passion for unraveling the deeper layers of the “why” is still very much alive. I continue to explore and integrate various methods to help clients better connect with their bodies and minds, empowering them to live aligned physically and mentally.
I am fundamentally driven by curiosity in my quest for knowledge. This powerful force pulls me towards the pursuit of truth, which I regard as a critical component of overall wellbeing. By grounding myself in truth, I am constantly guided to evolve into a more integrated version of myself.
Inspired by my own unique healing trajectory, I understand the need for a truly tailored approach with every single person I work with.
I opened up my practice working with clients in-person in Austin, Texas. This chapter of life was filled with learning and excitement, but ultimately I knew that the city-life wasn’t sustainable long-term. Still as ever passionate about outdoor activities and being immersed in nature, I moved back to Hawai’i where I currently live with my partner, working with clients mostly online.
I share my ever-evolving journey with hopes to inspire your own journey and relationship to yourself, and the world around you.
